    Comment font and size (Excel XP)

    <img src=/S/shrug.gif border=0 alt=shrug width=39 height=15> I would like to change the font in Excel comments from Tahoma to Times New Roman. I changed the Desktop Properties Appearances Advanced Tooltips to show the Times New Roman font and pitch size to twelve. This setting controls the appearance of comments, and it changed the pitch size, but not the font. My comments still come up in Tahoma, with the pitch size of 12.

    I did look around in the registry, but there were too many entries for Tahoma. I can

    I don't know of a way to change the default font for comments - it appears to be fixed as Tahoma. You can run a macro to change the font for all comments on a worksheet:

    Sub FixComments()
    Dim cmt As Comment

    For Each cmt In ActiveSheet.Comments
    With cmt.Shape.TextFrame.Characters.Font
    .Name = "Times New Roman"
    .Size = 12
    End With
    Next cmt
    End Sub
