    Text Joining (2003)

    I have 3 text boxes (Text1,Text2, Text3). I have to join these boxes in a report, but only if they contain text. I know how to join the text boxes, but not how to close the gap if say Text2 is empty, so I don't have [Text1] space [Text3]. I want to put seperators after each one also (/). The way I know would show Text1/ /Text3.

    You can use something like this:
    <code>
    =[Text1] & ("/"+[Text2]) & ("/"+[Text3])
    </code>
    Unlike &, concatenating with + results in Null if one of the arguments is Null. So if Text2 is Null, "/"+[Text2] will be Null too.

    Thanks Hans, that did work. Apologies for not replying.
