    Email notification

    I am using Mozilla 1.7.12 as my default browser and Email client but for some reason I do not get notification from the Lounge when replies to my posts are entered.

    Please advise how to cure this glitch.

    Sometimes the user's ISP bounces mails from the Lounge server because they are seen a spam. Claude will be able to confirm whether this is happening for you. In the meantime, you could contact your ISP to ask whether they blacklist mail from wopr.com.

    My ISP sympatico.ca has checked and they say that wopr.com is NOT being blocked by them.

    There are no email bounces from your account, are you using a spam filter perhaps who hasn't been told about the lounge? (Authorise loungeadmin@wopr.com as sender.)

    Not aware of any Spam filters that don'y flag spam and allow me to delete it.

    Do you have web access to your e-mail? You could check and see if it is actually getting to your ISP.

    Hi PaJan,

    Although I do not use Mozilla browser / email client (I use IE7 and Outlook), I have been a subscriber to Sympatico.ca for many years. Shortly after they teamed up with MSN last year, I started having problems getting my daily mail feeds from The Lounge and replies to my messages ended up in cyberspace. Messages to Sympatico concerning the issues went either unanswered, or when they did respond, they indicated that all appeared to be OK from their perspective.

    Since MSN is the front end to Sympatico's processes, I strongly feel that is where the problem lies.

    I was able to resolve the issue by getting a gmail account for The Lounge mailings. Have not had a single piece of mail lost since switching.

    Perhaps you may wish to consider a like approach?

    P.S. If you wish to have a gmail account you must be "invited" by an existing subscriber. Should you wish to pursue this approach let me know and I can send you the "invite".

    I also just started having the same problem. I haven't posted a lot lately but for at least the last few weeks (maybe longer) I haven't received any email notifications from the Lounge. I did check with my ISP, and they state that they are not blocking anything from wopr.com. I've also looked at my own junk mail rules and I can't find anything suspicious there. <img src=/S/shrug.gif border=0 alt=shrug width=39 height=15>

    Hi Claude,

    I'm not sure who John's ISP is (not in his profile) but I am with Sympatico.ca as is Pat... who started this recent thread.

    My problems started months ago when Sympatico married up with MSN and Sympatico's mail is routed through Hotmail. Here is a partial link when I sign into the web version to gather my Sympatico mail. Not sure if this will help or not.

    As stated earlier in this thread, when I was having problems (July 2006), Hans sent me a gmail invite. At the time, I switched my e-mail address on The Lounge to the gmail account and have not not a problem since. Except for a couple of days when I switched it back to Sympatico as a test.

    I see in another thread, that Pat's friend who is also with Sympatico is having similar problems. It has to be related to the Sympatico / MSN (hotmail) environment... IMHO.
