    Configuring autosave (Excel 2000)

Shortly after opening exceI am prompted to save the worksheet and unless I delete the "Prompt Before Saving" in Autosave, I am continually asked to save the worksheet every 10 mins.

But this change to autosave is not permanent and needs to be reset every time I reopen Excel. How do I configure autosave so that it is permanent and I will not be continually asked to save a workspace?

Any help would be much appreciated.

According to XL2000: AutoSave Settings Are Not Retained Between Sessions of Excel 2000, this bug war repaired in Excel 2000 SR-1(a).

As an alternative, you could use the AutoSafe add-in from our WMVP/Microsoft MVP Jan Karel Pieterse. See the JKP-ADS Download page (look for Autosafe.zip, not AutosafeVBE.zip).
