    Drawing a chart/graph (VS2003)

Using the draw function I am at a stage where I have a chart(gif) based upon datagrid data.

What are other persons using to draw charts (if any) in aspx pages?

    TIA

    Hi Alan,

I've always used 3rd party tools to generate charts rather than attempting to draw via code. Depending on the task, I've usually used SQL Reporting Services or Office Web Components.

You can certainly use the GDI+ functions in .NET to draw anything you'd like, but why would you want to!?!

    Thanks Mark.
Unfortunately the present company is on 2000 version 8 so reporting service is not available to us....although update to 2005 is imminent <img src=/S/clapping.gif border=0 alt=clapping width=19 height=23>

Actually, SQL Reporting Services is a free addition to SQL Server 2000. It is still used by many of my clients.

I'm not sure how one would acquire that currently since SQL Server and Reporting Services 2005 is already released. But I'm sure those who hold the software CDs in your organization should have received the free update when it was released.

It can also be downloaded from the MSDN Subscriber downloads site, assuming you have an MSDN subscription.

Hi Mark, Many thanks for your time replying. We have a result - as part of an upgrade with external accounting software the provider insisted on 2005 server and hence all the associated benefits are now raining down on me.
(just read Kiplings 'IF' to calm me down)

    Cheers
