Not really software this one, but anyway. Scroogle is a Google Scraper. That means essentially you can search using Google but your search results aren't skewed by adverts and the Big Brother nature of Google (recording everything you search and storing it along with your IP address and other details it can glean) is bypassed.
According to The Register, "Google has failed to challenge the legality of the service". I wonder how long that will last for... <img src=/S/innocent.gif border=0 alt=innocent width=20 height=20>

I can't help thinking this is a solution in search of a problem. However, it would be nice to look up one little thing on Amazon that I heard mentioned on the radio without the site thinking I've suddenly developed a compelling and powerful desire to buy everything in that product category. <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>
