installing active x control (windows xp pro sp-2)

I am trying to install an active x control and I keep getting the message
that windows blocked the control because it could not verify the control. I
know it is ok to install but when I click to allow the control and then click
install I still get the same message. I lowered my security settings to low
and disabled Norton Internet security. Still could not get it to work. Any
    ideas on what to do?

    Thanks,

    Mike

You could try adding the site to your Trusted Sites list.

From Tools menu select Internet Options. On Internet Options window click Security tab, then "Custom level" button closer to the bottom, on the next screen scroll down Settings list until you see "ActiveX controls and plug-ins" and make your choices. Click OK, Apply, OK, then close and open Internet Explorer.
