    Office 2007 and PDF (2007)

Does Office 2007 create a PDF printer, thus allowing other apps to print PDF?
Or does Office 2007 just export to PDF as in Open Office?

I have enough PDF print drivers on my machines, with all of the different programs that I use that provide them. Enough is enough.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

Agreed, I have a tonne too, I have PDF freeware products and the Adobe reader. That article was for background to show the giants are not playing nicely <img src=/S/evilgrin.gif border=0 alt=evilgrin width=15 height=15>

Office 2007 does NOT create PDF printer. If just 'publishes' a document to PDF. Note you must install Download details: 2007 Microsoft Office Add-in: Microsoft Save as PDF or XPS or Download details: 2007 Microsoft Office Add-in: Microsoft Save as PDF to add this functionality. See Enable support for other file formats, such as PDF and XPS - Help and How-to - Microsoft Office Online for more information.

Joe, any idea if these MS PDF utilities permit 'publishing' an IE web page to PDF, or if they tie into the Microsoft Document Imaging system? IE is not a listed app in the details at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en.

For that matter, anyone know if these MS PDF 'publishers' will work in a mixed Office 2003/2007 environment? I have business need to create a document image driven by the intractability of my accounts payable department, and have CutePDF, but wondered if an MS product would integrate better and work better.

    John,

You can't directly publish an IE page but if you have Word set as the HTML editor you can open a web page in Word 2007 and then publish it as a PDF. The addins are only work for the Office 2007 products listed.

Not really, since you don't invoke it as a printer (ie File|Print) - it's invoked via File|Save As. If it was a print driver, which I understand to be a system-level device, then I don't see how its accessibility could be limited to MS Office 2007 Apps.

It may just be another print drive, but it is is lot faster publishing a document to .pdf than printing it is to print it in Adobe.
    Thanks John

The point is it is not a print driver. If you open the Printer control panel app you won't see it there.

I was confused by what was going on here. OGAPluginInstaller is the Office Genuine Advantage plugin. It is that that does not work, but there is an alternative method of verifying that Office is genuine. When I used that I was able to download and install the SaveAsPDF plugin, which now works.
