New installs do not appear in add/remove programs

I have searched far and wide for the answer to this, it's a very strange one.

I have certain Windows 95 systems where when you install a new program, its uninstall entry will not appear in the add/remove programs list in the control panel.

It is not particular programs either, it is any program installed on that particular system.

The program installs ok and it's appropriate uninstall registry key is added to the registry as normal, but for some reason the control panel applet will not pick it up.

If anyone could explain this, I would be extremely grateful.

    Thank you
    Lou V.

What program are trying to install?

Are you sure that it should appear in the "Control Panel"?

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

Re: New installs do not appear in add/remove programs

Thanks for your prompt reply Dave.

Seemingly any program at all. For example Winzip; Acrobat reader; Norton Antivirus.

These same programs when installed on different systems (still win 95), will appear in add/remove programs no problem at all.

Seems to me that there may be some registry setting that has been made that 'turns off' these entries' ability to be displayed in the add/remove list. Is this possible?

Like I said, this is a strange one.
    Thanks again.
