    Change external drive letter designation

I gave my daughter a "new" (refurbished) system which she is very happy with. However, her external hard drive now shows up as drive E on the new system while it was drive F on her old system. Is there anyway to change the drive letter designation. Apparently this is affecting her ITUNES program. Thanks for your help.

She can change the setting in iTunes to look for the music in that location. On the preferences menu, Advanced / General tab.

Re: Change external drive letter designation

Doc's suggestion seems most straight forward and the easiest to accomplish. But just in case you ever do need to know how to change drive letters. Right-click My Computer, click Manage and then select Disk Management. If you then right click a drive's data, you can reassign the letter as my attachment shows on one of my external USB drives. One caveat however, is for CD or DVD drives, where you have to right-click the device name at the left end of the window below (you can't right click an empty data box).
