Changing st, nd, and rd to smaller text (Changing text)

I use excel 2000 and when I write something like "May 21st" or "May 3rd" in a cell I would like to have the st or rd or nd change to a smaller, higher text the way it appears when I type the same in a MS Word document. Is this feature available in Excel 2000? If so, where???

Type May 21st in the cell. Then in the formula bar select the "st". Then from the Format menu select Cells. On the Font tab put a tick mark next to superscript.

You may find John Walkenbach's free add-in SuperSub useful. It helps making parts of a cell superscript (or subscript).

Thank you Hans for your reply. I downloaded the SuperSub program and I am using it on any new Excel workbooks I create.
