    Mail Disclaimers

Edited by HansV to provide link to MSKB article

    Hi,

We have tried to add a disclaimer in Exchange 2003 by following the example in <!mskb=317680>Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 317680<!/mskb>, but sadly it has not worked.
As per instructions we installed the Exchange 2003 SDK and made the appropriate EventSinkScript.vbs file then ran the command to register the event sink, which appeared to work fine.
We do not submit messages using MAPI and have restarted the mail transfer agent and the disclaimer does not work.

Does anybody have any suggestions as to why it is not working please?

    Thanks

    Re: Mail Disclaimers

    Hi,
How are you sending the emails?
You may want to check out this page - the trial version of Mail Essentials apparently includes a disclaimer module that carries on working when the trial period expires for the rest of the suite.
    FWIW.

This is rather baffling: the article says the method won't work for mail sent using Outlook and does not provide any alternative method for making it work with Outlook. Yet Outlook is the primary mail client used with Exchange. <img src=/S/question.gif border=0 alt=question width=15 height=15> <img src=/S/question.gif border=0 alt=question width=15 height=15> <img src=/S/question.gif border=0 alt=question width=15 height=15>

(Edited by HansV to make URL clickable - see <!help=19>Help 19<!/help>)

We are currently on Exchange 2000, and had the same problem with the script. There is an KB on why it doesn't work, but I don't have the link. Something about the script adding it and then it getting deleted when the SMTP sends it. That is why we went with Exclaimer. Very economical, priced by server, and works like you would think it should. http://www.exclaimer.com/pricing.aspx On our second year with it and happy as a calf in clover.
