hyperlink drive & directory (xp sp2)

    server newbie question:

In sharing on the server, sometimes the path can get long; e.g.,
    S:SDI ProjectsTBF- annual & semi-annual reportscypress creekannual reports 2002-2006TBF-812 cyc annual 2006data

Is there a way to copy the path from WExplorer, paste in an email, and hyperlink the path so all that the recipient would have to do is click on it to get there?
    Thanks.

If you use "server-namefull-path-to-file-without-drive-identifier" including the quotation marks you do not have to depend on the recipient having the drive mapped as you do. As long as the recipient has permissions to access the file they'll be fine. In your case "serverSDI ProjectsTBF- annual & semi-annual reportscypress creekannual reports 2002-2006TBF-812 cyc annual 2006data" as long as SDI Projects was the folder directly under the actual drive specification on the server.

Note: You can test this. In Outlook after you type the trailing quotation mark and a space Outlook immediately turns this into a hyperlink. If you follow the hyperlink (CTRL+click) and you can start to open the link is good. If it is not good just fix it and try again.
