    Basic text import into Access -- SOS! (Access 2002)

    Hi,

    I am having trouble importing text records into a simple Access 2002 database. I

    I think you'll have to use VBA, and parse the text file, using the old-fashioned instructions such as Open, Line Input and Close.
    When you try to import or paste the text directly, Access sees line ends/paragraph marks as record delimiters.

    Thanks Hans (and also for your help with my other question). The thing is, I know nothing about VBA outside of Excel, although I've recorded Word macros. Is the code you described difficult to write?

    See the attached version. The code is in the basCode module.
    I have set references to the Microsoft Office 10.0 Object Library (for the mso... constants) and to the Microsoft DAO 3.6 Object Library (to be able to use the DAO Database and Recordset objects).
