    Change preview app (SP 2)

When I right-click an image and choose preview it previews in the Microsoft Picture Manager. Does anyone know how I can change this back to the Microsoft Fax and Image Viewer? (These names might be slightly different as 'this' computer is not mine and I can't check these names at the moment.) Thanks, Andy.

See if Doc's suggestion in the second post of this thread helps: <post:=601,285>post 601,285</post:>

I just found a tweak at Kelly's Korner also. Never tried it though. It's number 80 in the list: Troubleshooting Windows XP, Tweaks and Fixes for Windows XP

Thanks. I'll give it a bash when I get home. Andy.

If that little trick doesn't work, how long has this been going on and what changes, if any, have you made to your system lately ?? Have you installed any new programs recently or added any new hardware ?? If so, try a System Restore back to before the change was made.

I've been adding and removing loads of software.. It's not a big deal actually, just an 'annoyance'.

Another annoyance is that even though I've reset my default browser to IE, Explorer still shows the Mozilla icon for previously created HTML files.. I could describe more, but how long have you got?! Andy.

Can't help with the IE - Mozilla icon issue. That seems to me to be just one of those queer things about computers that will straighten itself out in time, or not. <img src=/S/shrug.gif border=0 alt=shrug width=39 height=15>

For the image problem, try right-clicking on an image file and select Open With from the dropdown and then select Chose Program and select Windows Picture and Fax Viewer from either the Recommended Programs or Other Programs list and be sure to check the box "Always use this program to open this type of file". If this corrects your problem, repete the process for each type of image file. If not, you can always go back and undo the changes. HTH <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

Have you installed Firefox and have it set it to your default opener of HTML files?

You could 're-register' it in WE and set it to IE - that may change it back...
