    AMD Processor Speed

Dell is now installing AMD processors in their systems. For example, you can get a Dell Dimension e510 with an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 3800+. My question is how does that "translate" into GHz speed? The pentium processors were simple to compare as their speeds were all the same. So how do I compare this AMD processor to a Pentium in terms of speed? Thanks.

Oh boy, have you got some Googling to do or what? There's so much out there to be read that I don't know where to start. Here's just one: <A target="_blank" HREF="http://www.amdboard.com/athlon_64_3800_review.html">

There may be something relevant in Tom's Hardware Guide CPU Charts...

By sheer coincidence, today's Windows Secrets Newsletter has an article on this topic!
