    time sheet (2000)

Hello, have a time sheet for my hours worked, attached but when I am in negative figures the sheet returns #####. I can't seem to fathom it out. Any ideas would be greatly welcomed.

    Thanks Darren.

Excel doesn't handle negative times. There are several workarounds:

    1) Clear the formatting for the hours worked. You'll see a strange number - this is the time expressed as a fraction of 1 day. To convert to hours, multiply with 24.

    or

    2) Keep track of the absolute value of the time (using the ABS function) in one column, and of the sign + or - in another column.

Using a danish version of Excel 2003.
In that it is possible to check an option to use the 1904 date system.
That will make Excel accept negative time!

    Welcome to Woody's Lounge!

That works in other versions too, not just the Danish one. It could be a useful option in a new workbook, but be careful with existing workbooks - all dates will be shifted by 4 years!
