    Run-time error 5843 (VBA - Word 2003)

    Hi,

    Ive a weird problem in that when I run a labels macro on one machine everything performs fine, the mailmerge label macro does everything right, however when I run on another machine, the moment the macro starts running it produces an error message stating;

    "Run-time error 5843"
    and
    "One of the values passed to this method or property is out of range"

    Why would this be fine on one machine and error out on another?

    Any help will be grately appreciated.

    Cheers.

    Try the following on one of the PCs where the problem occurs:
    - Open the document with the macro.
    - Activate the Visual Basic Editor.
    - Click anywhere in the macro.
    - Press F8 to single-step through the code.
    - Do you get the error immediately? If not, step through the code, and note which line causes the error.

    Hi Hans,

    Yes, the error occurred pretty much immediately. After thinking about it for a while, I realised that the problem was due to the fact that the machine in question did not have the custom label set up. So the macro tripped over when it saw that it had to call a custom label but there was no such label set up on word for the machine in question.

    Thanks for your help.

    Cheers.
