    Hall.dll missing dos copy (XP)

    Good morning

Can you please help? I have a problem when loading windows. It says error with hal.dll corrupt or missing. I have created a dos bootable disk with the hal.dll file on the disk. How do I copy the file from the disk to the hard drive, using dos commands? Is the correct thing to do?

    Thanks you

If your experience is anything like mine, I hope and pray that you have a system backup somewhere! I wasn't able to resolve mine about a year ago in the manner that you're trying to use. I had to resort to a full restore using my backup images.

Take a look at this possible fix from Kelly's Korner.

There's another explaination that might be more clear or easier to follow here. HTH <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>
