    Cross-reference formatting (2003)

When I insert a cross-reference to a numbered item, the cross-reference appears like this: "paragraph 1.g." I'd prefer the cross-reference to read, "paragraph 1g" (without the period punctuation after the digit). I can't see a way to force the punctuation out of the cross-reference. Is there a way?

    Re: Cross-reference formatting (2003)

If the paragraph is numbered 1.g, the cross-reference will show 1.g too.
If the paragraph is numbered 1g, the cross-reference will show 1g too.
You can customize the numbering in the Format | Bullets and Numbering dialog, either directly or by modifying the style.
I don't know of a way to make the cross-reference use a different format than the paragraph numbering.
