    Displaying image attachments (2003)

I have a relative who is travelling and has been keeping me up to date with her trip by sending lots of photos. And that's all good.

But I used to be able to see the images inside the email message, and see the text that she has written in between the images as in the first attachment.

Now, though, I am getting them all listed at the top of the email and I have to open each one. The text describing each image is also an attachment. It is not pleasant when the email contains 16 images and I have 32 attachments as shown in the second attachment.

I know that she is using a Mac. I don't want to sound biased but is it a sending problem from the Mac or a receiving one from Outlook? If it is a receving one, what can I do to go back to what used to happen?

It's almost certainly the way she composes her e-mail.

    Thanks, Hans

That is what I thought. But the fact that other recipients could see them as we used to had me worried. But then they use Macs as well.

Outlook will display images inline in HTML format messages. This might be applicable if you are viewing all HTML mail as Plain Text.

As far as I can remember, Outlook has never had the option to display attached images inline in Plain Text messages. I believe that might be a feature of Outlook Express (perhaps prior to IE7). If so, you could try importing the message into OE for easier reading. Best to copy the message to a new folder and then, in OE, import just the new folder.
