    Text and Date in same cell? (Excel 2002/2003)

    HI

    For reasons I won't go into now, I have a spreadsheet where I need a worksheet to emulate a word document.

    In Cell AB1 is the date formatted as date 01-Feb-07. In cell A23 I have the formula ="The Agreement will start on " & AB1 The result of which is of course The Agreement will start on 39114. Column A needs to be 94 wide to suit the Word page so if I use a different cell the text and the date will be far apart
    Is it possible to use text and a date in the same cell?

    Many Thanks

    Braddy

    <code>="The Agreement will start on " & TEXT(AB1,"dd-mmm-yy")</code>

    Hi Hans

    I am trying to adapt your formula for other parts ot the worksheet, I have come unstuck here.

    ="A rebate of "&AD1&"%""will be paid at the end of the contract period to the customer"

    This shows as 0.02% and I would like it to show 2.%

    Regards

    Again, use the TEXT function
    <code>
    ="A rebate of "&TEXT(AD1,"0%")&" will be paid at the end of the contract period to the customer"</code>
