PerfectDisk Ver 8.0 (All)

(Edited by DaveA on 02-Feb-07 10:59. Added attachment from my Vista machine)
After installing PerfectDisk 8.0, you will not be able to get the "Updates" unless you follow the instructions below.

Welcome to one of the new security "features" of Windows Vista. The "need to run as elevated" message indicates that you are not running PerfectDisk as an Administrator. Run PerfectDisk by right mouse clicking on PerfectDisk and selecting Run as Administrator. Then, the check for updates should work.

This is going to happen to a LOT of these type of programs. One can always go into the Properties of the "EXE" file and no the "Compatibility" tab, select "Always run as Administrator".

Thanks Dave..... got it. It must be because I turned the UAC off the "Run as Administrator" option did not appear in either the context menu of PerfectDisk or in the Properties dialog.
