    Norton System Works '06

It seems that all of a sudden Norton System Works '06 doesnt see my ZA Pro and I get the red <font color=red>"X"</font color=red> in the Norton system tray icon and says that my Firewall is diabled. The firewall is working just fine. Has ayone else seen this or have a fix? If you have and it's is a headache to fix let me know too. Norton expires next month and I plan on going all ZA at that time anyway.
    Thanks John

Most of Norton's "fixes" these days seem to involve uninstalling their product using the "removal tool" they so thoughtfully provide. If you have to go that route, I'd recommend that you keep on going and get ZA's suite a month early. Just my <img src=/S/2cents.gif border=0 alt=2cents width=15 height=15>. I'm going to be moving from Norton AV to Webroot's Spysweeper (already installed) with AV. Just too many recurring problems with Nortons stuff. <img src=/S/disappointed.gif border=0 alt=disappointed width=15 height=15>

On our Vista machines we are running OneCare and it seems to be doing a good job, with out a lot of interference.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

OneCare left a bitter taste in my mouth last summer. I ran OneCare on my stepdaughters (college kid) laptop (XPP) she was unable to access any other wireless networks besides our own, and my wifes laptop (XPH) was unable to get her Everquest to work no matter how I set it. That's why I dropped it and went to ZA Security Suite on theirs, and haven't had any problems. I am sure that they have fixed the problems since then but I can't take that chance with my laptop; especially when I am on the road. The combo of ZASS and JiWire has been overwhelmingly successful on my stepdaughters laptop and I have been using JiWire as well. Hated to use her as a quinnea pig but oh well!!

    I second Doc's <img src=/S/2cents.gif border=0 alt=2cents width=15 height=15>
I finally got rid of Norton and haven't regretted it a bit. A lot less of a PIA also.
ZA doing a fine job as a firewall and Avast as an AV prog.

WEll I went and done did it. Good Bye Norton!. I installed ZoneAlarm Security Suite 7 a month ahead of schedule. After I installed it I noticed too that it had most of the cleanup options that came with NSW. That was an unexpected plus. I don't remember reading about that part anyway. Their e-mail scanner through "Mail Frontier" is Ok. It needs a little training but for the most part is pretty good. On my laptop I have set it for both outbound and inbound and the junk -email filter set.. On the PC I have it the same, except that I have elected to turn the junk e-mail filter off for now and let my ChoiceMail One handle that as i has for the last couple of years. The upgrade went smoothly and I now have 2 years of updates. That comes from the recent renewal of ZA Pro, plus the year for ZASS.
    Thanks John
