    copy record from one form to another (access 2003)

    My main form is the Client form. It has name / address fields. A subform of Client is Guarantor. This form has the name and address of the person who will be paying the bill (sometimes the same as the client, most of the time it is not).
    On the Guarantor subform, how do I add a copy/paste control that will allow the user to copy the Client name and address into the guarantor name and address fields if they are the same?

    Thanks for any help.

    Welcome to Woody's Lounge!

    You could put a command button cmdCopyClient on the subform with an appropriate caption and code like the following in its On Click event:

    Private Sub cmdCopyClient_Click()
    Me![ClientName] = Me.Parent![ClientName]
    Me![ClientAddress] = Me.Parent![ClientAddress]
    End Sub

    You must, of course, substitute the correct names for the ClientName and ClientAddress controls, and you can add more lines if needed.
