    Autotext (Word 2003)

What might keep the autotext tooltips from displaying? I can create an autotext entry, type it and press [F3] and get it to insert properly, but it will not pick up on the first 4 characters of the name. None of the standard autotext entries (days of the week, months of the year, business name) will trigger an autotext.

In Tools>Autocorrect Options>AutoText, Show autocomplete suggestions is checked. Word is set to look in all active templates.

    Thanks for your suggestions.

Do you see tooltips elsewhere (for example when you hover the mouse pointer over a taskbar button in Windows, or over a toolbar button in Word?

I found a suggestion to try turning on View | Document Map, then turning it off again.
