Organizeing Favorites IE7 (7.0.5730.11)

In previous versions of IE when you try to add a site to a specific location on the favorites list it would open to an unexploded tree and you could drill down to where you want to go. In IE 7 it opens with the whole list exploded. I've got a rather large list so finding my way through it is a chore. Is there some way to open it collapsed like it was in earlier versions?

Thanks,
Thanks,

Chris,
Isn't my IE7 screen shot below considered an Unexploded list? Or are we talking of two different things here?

Bob,
Hit the down arrow to the right of the "Create in" pane and you will see what is meant by the OP!

Dave,
I know about using the drop down list in "Create In", to put a favorite in a specific favorite folder. I was trying to show Chris what I thought was an Unexploded list in favorites.

However, what do you mean by OP? ( I'm in one of my "dense" modes today )

OP= original poster. I believe the OP was saying that in IE 6 when you went to add to favorites you would get a list with only the top level folders and you could select the one(s) you wished to expand. In contrast, with IE 7 when you use the drop down you see all folders at all levels. In his case that makes the list very long.

Joe,
Thanks. I told you I was in one of my "dense modes" today! I've used the OP term myself but just no brain connection was made.

(Edited by DaveA on 06-Feb-07 13:37. Added attachment)
I was trying to get you to take a look at the drop down list and you will see that ALL folders are EXPANDED (this did NOT happen in IE 6 or even 5). This is it, the only way that they are displayed at this time. I am sure it will get changed either by MS or some "Third party add in".

You will also notice that if one was to start the "Folder name" with a special character so that they will be at the TOP of the Favorites list, they are now at the bottom of the list when viewing from the drop down list in the Create pane.

Why not look for an extension -- I mean IE7 add-on -- that has better bookmark handling? Bookmark Managers @ Windows Marketplace

I just might, but if I used one of those toys all the time, I would NOT know about the little nagging issues in IE 7.

Hmmm - Sorry for not responding, I seem to have dropped of the system. I had email notification checked but never got one and if I click on the "Add to watched threads list" button it complains that I'm already on. ???
Thanks,
