'Run As' not running (Windows XP sp2)

    Hello,
I have a computer that does not display the option for "run as" when a program is right-clicked on (or shift-right-clicked on). Everything else seems to work fine.
You can use the command line of course, but it is rather a pain compared to using the GUI.

    Any ideas ladies and gents?
    Thanks,
    Zabu

Did this just start happening? What else did you change? Are you sure you are pointing to an exe and not a shortcut? Have you tried a System Restore to a time when you knew it to work?

You might try this fix from KELLY'S CORNER
Line 111 on the left side.

I'd set a System Restore point before you do, just in case.

    Today it is called golf!

    Thanks.
This must have happened a while ago because system restore does not fix it. Bummer. If I had remembered system restore earlier it might have saved things. As far as what else has changed, I'm not sure. It's not my box, it's one of our programmers and he has added a few extra things to it.
The registry file did not work, but maybe I need to make this person an administrator and then run the reg file.
Interestingly, while he is in the admin group he has the option to 'run as', but not when logged in with user rights.

One possibility is that the profile got a bit corrupted. That sometimes happens and this is a profile that I migrated from a previous computer. I'll check it out.

Thanks for the ideas; I was at a wall and you got me thinkin' again.
    Have a great day,
    Zabu
