Word Shortcut keys and menus (Word 2002 XP SR3)

We have the default Microsoft Normal.dot on the pcs.

We also have a custom template - Inferface.dot, that dispalys our menus, toolbars and shortcut keys.

What were've discovered is some of the standard Word functionality has gone. eg
if you hold the Shift key down, the Close and Save menu changes to "Close All", and "Save All ".

    Is there a way I can put this back on? <img src=/S/shrug.gif border=0 alt=shrug width=39 height=15>

    many thanks

I'm not sure Microsoft has documented a way to access the special behavior of the Shift+File menu. If you can't find anything, as a workaround, you could try putting those on your customized menu full time.

I guess the default "FileSave" and "FileClose" buttons in the template have been deleted, and replaced with custom macro buttons.

A better way (that would have retained the "Shift+File menu" functionality) would have been not to touch the built-in controls (menu buttons), and to intercept the built-in commands with macros of the same name ("FileClose", "FileSave", "FileCloseAll", "FileSaveAll").

Perhaps you can rewrite the template along those lines?
