'Options' missing from Tools menu (XP)

In my class last night I was teaching my students how to use the Options feature to set Excel up the way they wanted it. One of the computers is missing the word "Options" from the Tools menu - have never encountered this B4. It wasn't just greyed out - the word is actually missing . . .

Where is it and how do I get it back?

    Thanks again

For use in a class you probably want to use the default menus:

    Select Tools | Customize...
    Activate the Toolbars tab.
Select Worksheet Menu Bar (but don't clear the check box!)
    Click Reset... and confirm.
If necessary, repeat for the Chart Menu Bar.
    Click Close when done.

I don't allow my students to change the default menus - I just take them on a tour so they know where to look when they need to change some of the defaults to meet their own needs either at work, school or at home.

I can't test your directions until next Wednesday evening but I sure will give it a try.

Thanks again for always helping me.
