I have a hunch you're the victim of "Mail Devilery", in other words a phishing attempt.

Could be

I run 01. Ad-Aware SE Personal and 02. Spybot - Search & Destroy and 03. AOL Spyware Protection and AboutBuster.exe on a daily basis.

I know I used a bad email address

Using OL in a perferct world without phishing, how would I know which of many emails I sent had the bad email address?

Thanks, John

If I send an a-mail to a non-existing e-mail address, I get an "Undelivered Mail Returned to Sender" message back that explicitly mentions the e-mail address I tried to send to. Since the message you received doesn't, and also because of the "Click here" (which a normal non-delivery message doesn't contain), I suspect it's spam. Running anti-spyware programs won't protect you against spam.

I think the first step is to determine the normal format(s) for undeliverable message errors. If you send an email to a nonexistent address. Here's an example from Exchange Server:

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

Subject: Test for undeliverable message format
Sent: 2/12/2007 11:28 AM

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

support4johndoesnotexist@att.net on 2/12/2007 11:28 AM
There was a SMTP communication problem with the recipient's email server.
Please contact your system administrator.
<our.mailserver.com #5.5.0 smtp;551 not our customer>

In this case, the destination server rejected the message and informed our mail server that the address did not exist. Some servers are configured to accept the message and send you a separate non-delivery message. In that case, the message headers will tell you which mail server sent it.
