    Power specs (Business)

So many threads have come so close that I may have missed it, but I have yet to see any discussion of Vista on a battery-operated laptop versus Vista on a 'power on' desktop or laptop.

Vista is a high-demand system so far as resources are concerned, but it's going to be useless on a laptop if your battery is dead in five minutes. Is anyone tracking this not-so-little detail?

Actually, from all the reports I've read, "Aero" in Vista actually uses very little power. It's all the other stuff that will take its toll. Of course, if one is thinking of playing a video DVD on battery power then I doubt the battery would last very long. <img src=/S/laugh.gif border=0 alt=laugh width=15 height=15> I just delivered a new Acer laptop today that came with Vista pre-installed. I played with it until the wee hours of the morning and I was impressed. I did not, however, see how long it would last on just battery power.
