    Track Changes (Office XP Word 2002)

    I have just been upgraded from Office 2000 to Office XP 2002, with all relevant Office updates. When we make changes to our documents, we need to show the areas that have changed by showing change bars on the left-hand side of the page. No other changes are shown (all deletions / insertions are hidden). Is there a way of doing this in Office XP? I can only find a way of showing ALL changes, with change bars, or NO changes without change bars. I need to show change bars ONLY.

    In the Track Changes tab of Tools | Options, you can specify that you don't want any markup for insertions. Unfortunately, Microsoft forgot to provide a similar option for deletions in the interface. You can set it in VBA, though. See <post:=618,756>post 618,756</post:>.
