    FF and Vista (Any)

Has anyone installed FireFox on a Vista OS?

If so what are the results?

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

I haven't. Apparently some glitches will be addressed in Firefox version 2.0.0.2 due out later this month.

Thanks, the wife was have some issues with a web site that they do some accounting capture and all users were getting a error when using IE 6 or 7. But the programmers that were using FF, had no problem. Turn out to be that the programmers forgot to change some of the permissions for the users, since we found out that it did NOT work for the wife on a machine using FF.
We did NOT want to install FF on her Vista machine, as she does NOT like being a Beta tester.
    Thanks for the info.

Arguably if she's using Vista before the first service release, she is a beta tester - at least that's what this article says. It also says that Firefox is unable to make itself the default browser in Vista. Whether that's a problem with the OS or the browser, I wouldn't know.

If at first you do succeed, you've probably missed something.

There are at least 13 Vista compatibility bugs fixed in Firefox 2.0.0.2, one of them is to make Firefox use the Vista default application API which will allow Firefox to set itself as the default browser.

Based on their facts, everything is still beta, that includes FF since there has been NO SP released! <img src=/S/evilgrin.gif border=0 alt=evilgrin width=15 height=15>

    Re: FF and Vista (Any)

For info, depending on the results of QA testing Firefox 2.0.0.2 with a number of Vista fixes, security patches and stability fixes will be released on 22nd February.

There are plans to let Firefox use more Vista features in future releases, such as to integrate Firefox with Vista's built-in parental controls.
