    Close Open Sessions

How does one go about closing open sessions on a NT server via a scheduled task?

    Thanks,
    John

    Re: Close Open Sessions

"Open sessions"? Do you mean logged-on user sessions, console sessions, executing tasks/processes, services?

I'd probably look at PSSHUTDOWN or the PSLIST/PSKILL combination, depending on which of these you mean.

    Re: Close Open Sessions

    John,

The user sessions can be viewed by right clicking on "My Computer", select Manage and then under Shared Folders a Sessions Folder can be found. Some folks forget to log off an application prior to going home and would like to be able to schedule a process (not rebooting the server) to close each open session.

The application does not have the capability of <img src=/S/bouncenburn.gif border=0 alt=bouncenburn width=31 height=31> users off.

    Thanks,
    John

    Re: Close Open Sessions

I would see what you get from PSLOGGEDON - you can log people off their PCs with PSSHUTDOWN, or perhaps kill their processes on the server with PSLIST/PSKILL, as I said earlier. (Let's hope they don't have databases or the like open!)

I'll have a look on my Server 2003 on Monday to see what corresponds...
