Windows SP2 (Home Edition SP2)

Guess what, gentlemen? I am now a user of Windows SP2. Don't every one faint at the news. I installed it from the CD and it went on without a glitch. Now to see if all my programs like it.

I hope you are all are as proud of me, as I am of myself. The coward finally got some back bone.

Gloria,
A serious note. Have you gone to the Windows update site and installed all of the hotfixes?
There should be quite a number of them. If not, that should be your next step.

Thank you, now everyone can stop teasing me about being so reluctant to install SP2.

Yes Bob, it's true alright.. I think the coming time change pushed me into it. Perhaps it went on so smoothly this time because I had the CD. Now if my programs behave, I'll be one happy camper. Now onward to get the updates.

Going there right after I post this. There must be a gang of them, I'll be busy the rest of the day installing them.

I was waiting to hear from you, I'd have been disappointed if you had no comment. Now you have no more ammunition to shoot at me about SP2. Aren't you sorry?

Not sorry, just proud of YOU for getting it done! Good luck with the updates. Hopefully they will all go in OK... I don't usually do my updating as often as most, but I've been lucky in that I've not had any trouble getting them to download and install. Continued good luck!

Re: Windows SP2 (Home Edition SP2)

Here's my first complaint.

When viewing the notices sent of posts by email, the pictures don't show. I see only little red x's instead.
Have you any idea of what's wrong?

I don't get post notices by email, so I have no idea what they're supposed to look like. Perhaps someone else can chime in.

What e-mail client are you using (Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, Gmail, Hotmail, ...)?

Re: Windows SP2 (Home Edition SP2)

Outlook Express 6.0. Before the install of SP2, this wasn't a problem. I had looked at messages just before the installation.

Try the following:

Open Outlook Express
Select Tools > Options
Activate the Security tab
Clear the "Block images and other external content in HTML e-mail" check box
Click OK.

Does that help?
