Printing from DOS (Win Pro XP)

Maybe I posted in the wrong place. Seened like the place to do it.

We have one Program that run in DOS. We are hoping to upgrade it to Windows in the near future.

We world like to be able to choose a printer to print reports to, I have used a piece of software in my old DOS days. But as luck would have it throw all of my DOS disks away.

Anyone know of how I could get this to work. Also we using a small Network, only 6 computers.

    Thank you much

Also, depending on how you print to the printer, it's always possible for the last page not to be flushed out, requiring an eject action on the printer.

I haven't done this for a very long time, but I'm pretty sure you use the DOS command
    <code>NET USE LPT1: servernameprintername</code>
to cause DOS programs to print to a specific network printer.

    Thank much Guys

I had a gem of program to do this, you were able to select which printer to use.

The wife was spring cleaning and... you've got to love her anyway.

If you gave its name (if you can remember it!) it's always possible that one of the DOSsers on this board may have it...!

    Hi John,

Might this be the program you are seeking? I have used it for a few years and find it very handy.
