Blue Screen after MS updates

I have just installed a series of updates to my works laptop. I had installed all the critical updates apart from IE7 and all was fine. I looked through the list of hardware items and it had NetGear drivers ( for the wireless card). I installed the drivers and half way through when it got to the NetGear one it showed an error message asking me if I wanted to send a report. I said No and it continued. It then asked me to reboot the laptop to which I did and showed the white screen asking if I wanted to start Windows normally, it went to the XP window and immediately to the previous white screen, this time asking it to boot in safe mode, no joy went to the XP window and then immediately to the white screen and loops.

Any way I can get to safe mode without this loop or have a got a broken laptop?

Jerry,
I'm not sure what you mean by the "white" screen?
Did it BSOD or any other message? Your title thread says Blue screen.

Did you try F8 repeatedly during boot?

Can you disable the wireless card temporarily to get it to boot?

Today it is called golf!

Hi Bob

Sorry, White screen = DOS screen, black screen with white type.

I took the card out and it did the same, I'll try good old F8 and se what happens and get back to you.

Hi Bob

I have been able to get in when I selected "Last known configuration".

Only problem now is it wants me to connect to my router and I am now running around the log cabin trying to find the password
