OXP Level 1 Email Attachments (Outlook 2002)

Is there anyway to work around the Level 1 blocking of attachments with (e.g.,) .exe file extensions.

I receive a regular emailing of a virus update file that is an .exe executable, and OXP is blocking this as a level 1 attachment. Is there any way to get to this attachment and run it?

I deliberately avoided running SP2 on Outlook 2000 as I didn't want to have this happen. In Office 2002 it seems to be mandatory...is there a work around?

Thanks
Mike

http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/esecup/getexe.htm you can edit the registry manually or ue a com addin.

personally, i use exlife (in tools section) and manually save files to my drive that i need. This way i don't worry about accidently running a virus - i've have about 30 copies of various ones in the past week. (i copy the message to a folder and run the rule manually on that folder.)
