    Transfer categories (Outlook 2002)

I recently changed out hard drives, loaded XP Pro OS (new install), and installed Outlook 2002. I kept my old pst file and installed it into Outlook. With the newly installed Outlook, I lost all of my previous personal Categories in the master list, but (as expected) the personal categories remained in the pst file. Is there a way to "transfer" my old categories into my new Outlook install besides manually entering them one at a time. I've got about 50 of them. Any and all help would be appreciated. BTW....I'm not a VBA person.

I've searched on this forum, but didn't find anything suitable.

    Thanks.

The categories are stored in the Windows Registry, so if you did a clean install of Windows, the old list has gone, unless you kept a backup of the old Registry. Entering the categories manually is the only remedy.

Thank you, Hans. I thought that would be the case. Something else to do to use up my time. :-)

<img src=/S/sorry.gif border=0 alt=sorry width=15 height=15> In case you didn't know, you CAN select multiple items and apply (a) category(ies) to them in one pass.
