Sequential numbering of Word documents (Word 2002 SP-2)

We have a 20-page document that, for security reasons, needs to be numbered sequentially. i.e. the same serial number in the footer of every page of each individual copy. The document layout demands a different header and footer on the first page

I'm not clear on whether you need the same number on every page of every copy, or to increment the number on every page of every copy so that every single page has it own number. If you want the same number on every page of every copy, you could copy the field code from the First Page Footer to the (all other pages) Footer. Sometimes it is easier to select the field code if you first toggle the display using Alt+F9. (Press Alt+F9 again to switch back to viewing results.)

This is a duplicate of Sequential document numbering (Word 2002 SP-2). Per <!rule=14>Rule 14<!/rule>, do not post the same inquiry on multiple boards.

Please continue discussion on the Word board.
