'New Tab' function. unable to get it to work ? (win xp sp2)

This is realy driving me nuts. Its either me or somthing wrong with XP
"New Tab" function. unable to get it to work ? I have a client that has me update severl pages of his site at a time and it would be a big help to have the six pages in question open "in TAB form" (whwn Tab selected) rather than have six seperate browser windows open.

Can someone explain step by step very simply the correct way to add a new link Tab to a browser window.

I have held Ctrl down while clicking link, I have right mouse clicked and selscted new tab and it just opens in a new browser window.
I have looked at the Tools/Internet Options/ Tabs/ Settings/ and I have the "Enable Tab Browsing" selected. ANY HELP PLEASE.

Are you talking about IE 7 tab browsing?
If so, go to Internet Options>Tabs>Settings, to change the way tabs operate.

Hi Bob, Yes refering to IE 7 In my post I said I had gone to Internet Options>Tabs>Settings, to change the way tabs operate.
I tried all the selections that looked relevent. The main one beint the Top one "Enable Tab'd Browsing.

If anyone uses this please tell me what the settings are and HOW they do it

IE7 has a tabs toolbar. To the right of the tabs is a small square button. Click this to open a new tab (see screenshot below)

Also: Ctrl+T opens a new tab.

And: clicking a link with the middle mouse button (or mouse wheel) opens the link in a new tab.
