    Virus w32.Sircam@mm

One of the people on our network was infected with this vitus this morning and it seems to have spread to others on the network as well. My virus software is updated and I did a complete scan. It found three infected area's. I deleted them all however the one file 'Rundll32.exe looked important and there may be a good chance I will need this again. (I have no idea what it does) How would I go about reinstalling it?

You may get some assistance here at <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.europe.datafellows.com/v-descs/sircam.shtml>Datafellows</A>.

I was glad to see our mail-scanner was up-to-date enough to catch one trying to sneak in here earlier today.

Once again thanks to all who offered advice. Problem solved with your help. Sure didn't expect to pick this up when I was an innocent bystander (really not that innocent!)

has a how to on restoring rundll32.exe to your system and highlights what the file does for you.

It is easier to get it from a clean computer running the same version of windows. It is 24k and fits on a floppy with a bit to spare. <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>
