WIN32 Error Messsage (Windows XP sp2)

"Generic Host Process for Win32 Services has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience"

Anybody know what this? And more importantly, what do i have to do to make it go away?

    Thanks.

Googling the error indicates it is likely to be a driver or spyware issue.
    (For example: this thread)

Have you made any hardware changes to your system recently?
    Does Event Viewer report anything?
Do you run regular Spyware/Malware/Virus scans?

Slightly different appearance of the problem, but you might want to read this thread: <post:=587,790>post 587,790</post:>. In my case, I never did track it down and I believe it was svchost.exe having a problem with some TSR utility I run. The problem for me went away and so far hasn't come back, so I think an update "somewhere along the way" cured it. In the referenced thread it was suggested using something like Process Explorer to analyze the problem, but even that is tough to do.

If it is a "svchost error" is normally a result of an update/patch from Microsoft

Turn off Automatic Updates then go to the Updates Site and see if there are any Updates for you. If so, download and install these Updates.
    Turn Automatic Updates on again.

If that does not help go to Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel and uninstall the last Updates which you installed. Then download and install them manually.

Yes I did in fact perform an automatic update. I will look further into this. Also thanks to the poster that recommended Sybot. I highly recommend this program. I uncovered that I had 19 programs that were slowing down my ability to surf the net. After I removed them I was zipping from site to site.
