    Rules and Alerts (Outlook '07)

I would like to either create a script, or run a custom action for some e-mails. I have read through the help for Outlook but don't see anything there that helps. Specifically I would like to take an e-mail bill notification and have that e-mail automatically placed in the calendar. I can drag and drop the e-mail into the calendar but it would so much easier to do it automatically.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks John

Can't you setup a rule to do that?

    Yes and No!
I can create a rule which I have done that will catagorize, and flag the message for follow up. This only puts it into the tasks folder. From there I have to drag it to the calendar or drag the e-mail to the calendar. I would like to put it directly into the calendar.
    Thanks John

You should have the ability to copy the message to a folder. What happens if you select the Calendar as the destination folder?

Outlook creates an unsaved Calendar item by using either the present time and duration if dropped onto the Calendar without a day visible, or if targeted for another day, the start of the work period for that day.

On what day and time in the Calendar would this message be placed? Outlook doesn't know the time for the Appointment (see my reply to Joe), and that's part of your problem.

You make a good point John. I just received an e-mail that needs to go to my calendar for an appointment so I just dragged it to the appropriate date and time then opened it to make sure that the time was set correctly. Guess that that will suffice.
    Thanks guys.
