URGENT: Cannot Open Database (Access 2003)

Is there any way to open, or fix, a database when you get the following message?

"Unrecognized database format 'N:ClericalJob Numbers DatabaseJob Number Database 2003.mdb'

I have already tried to compact/repair but get the same message. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

See Jet compact utility is available in download center. JetComp is a stand-alone program that can sometimes repair a database even if the built-in Compact and Repair fails.

If that doesn't work, create a blank new database and try to import as many database objects from the problem database as possible. You'll have to set the startup options (in Tools | Startup) and non-standard VBA references (in Tools | References in the Visual Basic Editor) anew.

If that doesn't work either, you can try to import the tables into an Excel workbook (using Data | Get External Data | New Database Query). If you have a recent non-corrupt backup copy of the database, you may be able to use the workbook to bring the data up-to-date.

    Hans,

Thank you very much! As always, you had the answer. Thanks again.
