Help with Error message ? (Excel 2002/2003)

    Hi

Can anyone help with this problem please.

If there is an X in cell 'Business Builders Offers 2007'!K9 and you try to enter x in 'Business Builders Offers 2007'! M9 you should get an error message, and visa versa

In other words you should only be able to enter x in either K9 or M9 and not in both.

'Business Builders Offers 2007'! is the worksheet name.

    Many Thanks

    Braddy

Click on K9, then Ctrl+click on M9. This selects both cells.
    Select Data | Validation.
Choose Custom from the Allow dropdown list.
Enter the following formula in the Formula box:

    =NOT(AND($K9="x",$M9="x"))

Activate the Error Alert tab, select Stop as Style and enter an insulting message in the box.
    Click OK.
