    Missing letters

I noticed after I installed Windows XP SP2 that in Add or Remove Programs, the letters are not completly printed. The last couple of letters aren't there for programs that have long names and I have to guess what should be there. This is weird, I never viewed this complaint before. Even in the size column the B in MB is missing.

Could it be a problem with the font used or what? Can it be fixed?

    Re: Missing letters

Although this may well have started at the time you installed SP2, it's not a bug/feature of SP2 as far as I know. It certainly doesn't occur on my PC.

You might experiment with different settings in the Appearance tab of the Display Properties control panel.

Have you tried making the "Add and Remove" pane larger?

Yep. It expands but letters still don't become visible. I'll try Hans suggestion and see if that helps.

    Re: Missing letters

The only thing I saw that just might fix the missing letters in Add and Remove was under Effects. I changed smoothing screen fonts from ClearType to Standard. No correction was visible, everything is exactly like it was previously.

    Thanks for the suggestion.

Does it help if you select a different color scheme?

BTW, have you selected Large Fonts? (You set this by clicking Advanced in the Settings tab of the same dialog)

Post a screen shot so we can see what you are seeing.

    Re: Missing letters

Selecting large fonts fixed the letters missing in Add or Remove Programs. I could hardly believe my eyes when I opened the program and all of the text was visible.

Thank you so much for the tip.

    Re: Missing letters

No need for posting a screen shot now. The problem was fixed by selecting large fonts in Control Panel > Display Properties > Appearance > Font size.
