Turbotax - No Win98

I was more that a bit miffed to learn that I should have read the fine print carefully. It is late in the season to warn others that TTax 2006 is not Win98 compatible. I learned when I tried to install and it balked and told me that MS no longer supports my OS so Intuit is on their side. Now I need to pay shipping to send the useless software across the country to SC in hopes of getting part of my money back.

I'm pleased to see that H&$ Block's Tax Cut is not so 'in lock step' with Redmond.

I think that you are going to find that the farther down the road we get from Windows 98 there are going to be fewer and fewer new or updated versions of programs that will work with it. Reaches a point where it's just not cost effective.

You've probably gone to Tax Cut by now, but after reading your post (and being as surprised as you were) I notice that the Turbo Tax ON-LINE version of the program says it does support Win98. I guess that's because it's browser driven, I don't know.
