    Does anyone know the Word vba commands for turning off the duplex and staple options when data is sent to a printer, please?

    I'd create two printers pointing to the same physical printer, one printing double-sided and stapling, the other printing single-sided. You can switch easily in the Print dialog, or you could create custom toolbar buttons to switch between the printers.

    Re: Turn-Off Staple,Duplex Options (Word 2003)

    Hi Hans,

    Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately, Im unable to have two printers on one physical printer as the printer in question is part of a commercial network and will only accept one I.P. address.

    I was, however able to make use of the link "Controlling the printer from Word VBA". The code that this link suggests is detailed below and produces the following message, 'Sub or Function not defined' :-

    Sub PrintDuplexBooklet()

    Dim iDuplex As Long

    iDuplex = GetDuplex 'save the current setting
    SetDuplex 'set for vertical binding
    ActiveDocument.PrintOut Background:=False
    SetDuplex iDuplex 'restore the original setting

    End Sub

    Im not sure what needs to be defined to make it work, do you have any suggestions?

    Cheers.

    Have you copied the very long piece of code that takes up the second part of that web page? It is needed by the PrintBuplexBooklet macro.

    Note: the line

    SetDuplex 'set for vertical binding

    misses an argument for SetDuplex, you should have

    SetDuplex 2 'set for horizontal binding

    or

    SetDuplex 3 'set for vertical binding

    I had overlooked the fact that the long piece of code needed to be inserted, I think I need to adopt a less haste approach..!!

    As always, many, many thanks for your time and help Hans, its much appreciated.

    Best Regards.
